The new Exhibition on Screen film, Canaletto & the Art of Venice is in select cinemas from Tuesday 26th September. I was lucky enough to not only sing the vocals for the trailer but also to appear on screen singing in the film itself. The photo gives a flavour of the appearance so do get your tickets to see the film. A great team discovering some great art and music! The trailer can be found here:
Sunday 1st December saw us Jazzàbelles making our début at The Vortex Jazz Club in Dalston with the Bob Stuckey trio. We performed three of our album tracks with a great band. Thank you so much Bob, Jerome and Cheryl for a fabulous performance. We loved it! We hope to be back to play sing their again soon. In the meantime, here are two clips of our performances:

Thank you to all who came out on a cold November night to listen to our album launch concert in Highgate. A lovely audience and a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Many thanks for all the support.
Thank you again to Gareth Wilson for his wonderful trilogy of Scottish folksong arrangements which feature on the album. Always a pleasure for Craig White and I to perform them.
The CD is obviously the perfect Christmas present so do stock up ahead of December 25th! Available to purchase direct via:

I have just returned from fun times at the two week Zezere Arts Festival in Portugal playing Vixen in Janacek's Cunning Little Vixen. More photos under 'photographs' link but thanks to a great cast and Mario our Director extraordinaire for a great production!
Other concert appearances during the fortnight included a recital, gala concerts, restaurant performances and outreach projects in the area.
Music making in the sunshine. Who could ask for more?!
What a week it has been! Straight off the plane from Boston last weekend to rehearsals and gigs galore! Us Jazzàbelles strutted our stuff in two Independence Day engagements, debuting all sorts of new numbers and dance moves.
Last night I performed at The Stables with Julia Fordham (pictured here with me). It is something I have aspired to for 20 years so to say it was incredible would be an understatement! Thanks to Julia and her wonderful pianist Grant Mitchell for making me so welcome. A video of the performance can be found here:
Now to learning Vixen for Portugal next month! Variety really is the spice of life!
Exciting news to share! My new folksong CD 'Ae Fond Kiss' has been dispatched and is available to listen to and purchase NOW!
The CD is a beautiful collection of favourite folksongs from the British Isles and beyond for voice and piano. It features sublime piano playing from British pianist and 2012 Kathleen Ferrier Awards Accompanist Prize Winner, Craig White. It has three exquisite Scottish folksong arrangements by Gareth Wilson, ‘Annie Laurie’ being arranged especially for the album.
A treat for both folk and classical music lovers alike, this album promises to take you on a journey through the British Isles and across to Newfoundland with some unexpected stops along the way!
